Skynyrd off the road while Rossington recovers

Lynyrd Skynyrd is losing some tour dates so Gary Rossington can get treated for blockages in an artery. The guitarist and sole remaining member of the classic Skynyrd lineup has had recurring heart problems in recent years. The original announcement from the band did not specify which member was ailing or the nature of the illness.  After false rumors developed suggesting that Johnny Van Zant had suffered a heart attack, the band issued a denial and identified Rossington as the one needing medical attention.  The procedure is considered relatively low risk but does require a period of rest for recovery. The tour is scheduled to resume Friday (8/11) in Virginia Beach.
