Bruce on Broadway details dished

News that Bruce Springsteen was setting up a residency run on Broadway broke in June (story). Now, details about the series have been released.  The debut performance will be on October 3, with the series commencing 10/12 and running five nights a week through November 26 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.  Tickets go on sale exclusively through Ticketmaster at 10am Eastern on August 30 and are reportedly scaled from $75 - $800.  Ticketmaster will employ a newly developed screening system known as Verified Fan® in an effort to thwart scalpers and bots from commandeering tickets.  Verified Fan registration is open from now through 8/27.
The actual performances are expected to feature Bruce performing solo on guitar and piano, recounting stories and, perhaps, reading from his autobiography.  Springsteen says he set out to "...do some shows that were as personal and intimate as possible.  I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I had in mind."  He adds, "My show is just me, hte guitar, the piano and the words and music.  Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work.  All of it together is in pursuit of my constant goal to rovide an entertaining evening and to communicate something of value."
