? On this day in 1958, I appeared on the BBC's 'All Your Own' programme hosted by Huw Wheldon. It was a show that showcased kids with talent or unusual hobbies and at that time I probably fell into the second category. It was a skiffle group, an infectious form of music that was played on the radio, and TV at that time. Being accessible for kids to be able to play with a minim of chords. The source for most of this music came from the USA: Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, country blues etc. The shining light and inspiration to many aspiring skifflers was Lonnie Donegan.? ? I remember being very nervous during this TV show.

Carry Fire, an album of new material from Robert Plant and his band Sensational Space Shifters, includes a song with a title extracted from Stairway To Heaven's lyrics.  The May Queen will be instantly recognized by fans of the epic 1971 song as part of the line '...it's just a spring cleaning for the May Queen'.  Asked about it by BBC 6, the former Zeppelin front man said he loves the season of renewal and that it just seemed to fit the song.

Led Zeppelin's bass player and Queen's drummer joined Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters for a rendition of the song Queen and David Bowie recorded together.  The Saturday (9/5) concert at the Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK paused for Grohl to introduce the special guests that would turn his band into a 'superdupergroup' for a song, adding, 'I don't even know what to say because this kind of s*&t doesn't happen every day. Let me just tell you that the Foo Fighters, right now, are living our Rock n' Roll fantasy with you tonight.' With that, the group delivered a version of Under Pressure on Freddie Mercury's birthday.

Jack White and Robert Plant have both expressed an appreciation for the other's work but the two had never played together until Plant took the stage during White's band's set at Lollapalooza Argentina and the two cranked out a version of Zeppelin's Lemon Song.

After spending a good deal of time in recent years revisiting the past while remastering original tracks and selecting bonus material for the reissued, expanded editions of Led Zeppelin's first five albums, Jimmy Page is close to starting his next musical venture.  While he's not revealing any details about his direction and sound, the guitarist tells our friends at Classic Rock Magazine that it will be 'surprising'.
