An altercation that alledgedly took place between Vince Neil and a woman that maintains the former Motley Crue member grabbed her by her hair and dragged her to the ground when she approached actor Nicholas Cage to compliment him on his acting has led to a battery charge. The incident in a Las Vegas hotel lobby spilled over to outside the hotel when a visibly angry Cage took Neil aside and lit into him last April (story). Lawyers entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Neil, who was not required to be present for the brief session Wednesday (7/27) in a Las Vegas court. A trial date has been set for September 19th in the case. One of the lawyers representing Neil told the Las Vegas Sun that people should not '...prejudge situations until all the facts come in'.

The touring life-span of the Beatles was very brief and did not make a very favorable impression on Keith Richards. Speaking with Radio Times Magazine, the Rolling Stones guitarist said, 'Musically, the Beatles had a lovely sound and great songs. But the live thing? They were never quite there.' In their defense, the limited period in which they toured was at the height of Beatlemania, when screaming girls often drowned out the sound of the band in the venues they played and on stage monitors were of little use.

Angus Young could be the last man standing in AC/DC. Bass player Cliff Williams says he plans on retiring from the group and attributes his decision to the loss of Malcolm Young, Phil Rudd and Brian Johnson. Speaking with Gulf Shore Life, Williams said the band has been '...what I've known for the past 40 years, but after this tour I'm backing off of touring and recording. Losing Malcolm, the thing with Phil and now with Brian. it's a changed animal. I feel in my gut it's the right thing.' Eddie Money, targeted by a former drummer in a lawsuit, has fired back with allegations of his own. Money contends that drummer Glynn Symmonds' claims about him are "preposterous and downright evil" and implies that they were lodged against him simply because he decided he wanted to have his son play drums for him instead of Symmonds. The lawsuit filed by Symmonds maintains that Money ridiculed the drummer on stage over bladder control problems stemming from a medical condition and that the singer hit on his fiancé. Taking to his Facebook page, Money wrote, "I raised thousands of dollars to help Glenn beat his bladder cancer, and I was proud, along with the band, to do it,", and added, "I am glad Gelnn is healthy, and I wish him well. But I wish he and his girlfriend would no longer assault me and my family with malicious falsehoods that impugn my integrity in an effor to make money for themselves through a bogus lawsuit."
